Cabin - Delight

Delight 1 - Split Levels
The split in levels in the proposed cabin is more about the physiological break between rooms than the manipulating of the building form. This also reduces the ceiling height in the bedroom giving the room a cave like sensation as the sunscreen continues around you on either side of the room past the face of the balcony which is to give a sense that the room is cosy but not claustrophobic as one is able to see through the screen.

Delight 2 - External Views
From every point in the cabin one is confronted by external views (except for the study). This is to accentuate the occupants bond with surrounding environment. The sunscreening does provide a psychological barrier once the windows are completely open as not to make the occupants feel overtly exposed to the elements. Unsurpassed is the view from the shower room, glass surrounds the shower room leading onto external views of the private woodland beyond. The glass itself is liquid crystal privacy glass, once charged the glass turns white opaque glass box. Lit from the inside, shower room glows as ember in the dark of night.

Delight 3 - Sensory Experience
The cabin offers occupants with a multitude of sensory experiences some apparently contradictory. The cabin allows for substantial natural light throughout the cabin. The full height sliding glass walls merge the external surroundings to the internal setting. Naturally ventilate, breezes course through the building. The cabin itself is very much open throughout and then closed off as and when required.
