The North elevation, which is most exposed to direct sunlight across the entire facade, has large over hangs and downturns to maximise solar shading. The windows sit within reveals and slit windows are provided to maximise natural light. The site as whole has extensive tree coverage, providing the building with excellent solar shading, whilst maintaining privacy.
Firmness in Design 2 - Cross Ventilation
Extensive operable glazing allows for good natural ventilation through the entire building.
Firmness in Design 3 - Structural Simplicity
Structural simplicity allows for unobstructed circulation through entire building whilst maintaining views from each area of the building. This also makes for rational rooms that efficient and are without awkward spaces.
